Danobat: productivity and flexibility in axle grinding
Danobat has recently supplied a high-speed grinding machine to a transmission manufacturer, where the high productivity associated with CBN and the flexibility derived from contour grinding are combined.
With the new grinding machine, Danobat achieves the complete grinding of the part in one clamping, increasing productivity, reducing stocks and in short, significantly improving the production costs and delivery times for the end customers.
The FG-600-3BS model has a rotating wheel head that can incorporate up to three high-speed grinding wheels. Two of the grinding wheels are CBN and contour grind at speeds ranging from 100-120 m/s, which enable the complete grinding of all the diameters of the parts. The third wheel is a conventional abrasive wheel and grinds a thread starting from the previously turned diameter.
The diameters to be turned have IT5 tolerances and the roughness attained by the contouring grinding process is always under Ra 0.4 mm.
