GNC has created a joint venture with its commercial agent in China (in which it has a 55% share) which will initially invest four million euros in building a production plant that is likely to reach a turnover of 18 million euros in three years with a workforce of 70. The factory, that will occupy a surface area of 13,000 square metres, will be built in the IT Industry Park, Kunming, in the Chinese province of Yunnan.

The new installations will be operational at the start of 2008, and will mainly attend to Chinese demand in the first phase. The most sensitive parts of the machines (heads and rams) will be shipped out from the Spanish plants. Once quality has been put on a level with European production, the machines manufactured in China will be for export. For the moment, GNC has started manufacturing in provisional installations, and is working on the assembly of the first four Diana fixed-bed milling machines and the first two travelling-bed gantry milling machines FP-40. These are the manufacturers’ most standardised machines, but they open the way for producing large machines and complex solutions in the future.

It presently has an order portfolio for the present financial year amounting to 45 million euros. Out of the projects closed for the second half of the year, there are orders for Anayak milling machines for Decto (Belgium), Xian Aeroengine (China) and Correa machines for Mecalux's Polish plant, Industrias Maxi (Valladolid) and Omma (Italy) amongst others.
