New collaboration Trimek-Volkswagen
Trimek will be responsible for the control of measures of the new Volkswagen coupe model. Trimek will use the machine Trimek LANDI that can measure simultaneously up to two vehicles.
The Trimek LANDI is a large machine – 14 meters length by 6 meters wide- and it has 4 arms to work with very high accuracy. Furthermore, it uses the most versatile new generation continuous stylus.
The machine is already delivered to Portugal at the Autoeuropa factory, where the world-wide production for the new coupe will be controlled. Once the machine arrives at the Portuguese factory and it is installed, the production will be able to start by the beginning of the next year. The first new coupe units will be ready in 2008. This is not the first time that Trimek and Volkswagen collaborate; Volkswagen has already used a Trimek machine with similar features for the production of some of its previous models.
