Besides, in the event participated different personalities such as General Council of Gipuzkoa, Markel Olano, Regional Minister of Industry and Innovation, Bernabé Unda, Regional Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Gemma Zabaleta, Deputy of Vocational Training, David Urzainqui, Major of Elgoibar, Alfredo Etxeberria, Director of IMH, Joxean Egaña and its President and General Director of the Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (AFM), Xabier Ortueta.

As public, assisted to the event many representatives of public institutions, business organizations and machine tool manufacturers companies.

The event started with an organized visit to the centre in which participants should knew the facilities.

After the visit and already in the hall, remembered the first steps of IMH with a video which showing how on 21st of December of 1989, representatives of Basque Goverment, of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and of the City Hall of Elgoibar together with AFM, Adegi, unions and financial institutions gathered in the Throne Room of the Provincial Council to be the founding sponsor of a project that began as a commitment to innovation and experimentation.

To finish the event, Alberto Ortueta’s widow, María Jesus Mendia, uncovered with the Lehendakari, the plaque in honour of that was the first president of IMH, thanking the effort to launch the IMH.

In his intervention as President of IMH, Xabier Ortueta, in turn General Manager of AFM presented ASMAOLA, the new project of the sector. It is about the creation of a centre of innovation of fabrication procedures for industrial SME. With the objective of help small enterprise in practice innovation projects, of short duration and limited budget, and to collaborate with companies, technology centres and universities networking, it offers an added value, because its proximity to the IMH makes it able to return to the industry the knowledge that gets working for companies, as training, curses, etc.
