The Tianjin Chinese Spanish Machine Tool Vocational Training Centre, CSMC, was created and started up, as a result of the cooperation between the Tianjin Technological Institute and the Spanish Promoter Group, Machine tool sector, led by PROSCHOOLS. The CSMC is located in Tianjin city. This project, focused on Vocational Training, has been possible thanks to the cooperation between Chinese and Spanish Governments. The main goal of the projetc is training of qualified personnel for the Chinese industrial sectors, users of Machine tools such as, the automotive, aeronautical, and railway companies.

BACKGROUND

•Since 1979, the Spanish sector of Machine tool manufacturers has made continuous efforts to penetrate a particularly complex but large consumption market, which shows a spectacular growth in the coming few years.

•Since 1992, as a result of a collaboration agreement between ICEX (Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade) and the Chinese Ministry of Finance MOF, a number of Chinese students have been trained in Spain.

•Since 1998, the Spanish Promoter Group headed by PROSCHOOLS has worked with the “Tianjin Industrial Technology Institute” (local partner) on the definition and fundraising for this project.
